Well, yes, considerably older than you...mother...quiltmaker,definitely interested in textiles, fibre and art. Religion? not thanks, politics? left. Not in the least purturbed by your language. Now is that what you wanted to know?
hehehe. I enjoy your blog, oh and I like the hand-dyes, they go well togehter, including the pukey pinks!
Claire
Thanks so much for the comment :-) Sounds like we are very much on the same track. Apart from the motherhood thing, but I suppose that too could happen to me... BTW I like your new 'wave' pieces. AND did you know I was born in NZ?

Hey, I like those pukey pinks! They'll be good contrasts...maybe? I know crap about quilting, just what I like and don't like (I like yours).
I don't really like the computer games because they're time suckers that leave nothing to show for it. Nick has a game called Civilisation that I practically have to use a timer and a prybar to not lose him to it--I ask, "you spend six hours doing this and by the end, what do you have? A sore ass and a pretend civilisation with tanks. Good job." He says, "yes, but it's really neat when you have tanks and your opponent still has just horses." Paging through the Civ manuals, I can see that it might be a cool history lesson type game (certainly better than Oregon Trail ever was) but I still don't feel it and chalk it up to different strokes--if he was too much like me it would feel really creepy that I have such a case of the hots for him.

I can sort of see why he plays, but I hate the violence in those games. And the time it sucks out of his life. Oh well, I suppose he could be the sort of bloke who spends his entire life down the footy club getting pissed. LOL.
Cheers

Hi Claire,
Maybe you don't want to be reminded - but I end up reading everything you write! I pop in once or twice a week to check out what you have been up to and am never disappointed catching up with you again. It's a nice way to keep our friendship current. I always find it difficult thinking of something to tell you on the phone about what I have been up to cause nothing is usually reportable - but day-to-day plenty of stuff happens. Have fun in Melbourne. I'll be in Melbourne in a couple of weeks for a course and will be catching up with Ali for the weekend before hand.

What to do with 250g (8.8oz) merino/silk blend top. Dye it orange of course! This was a very expensive purchase, it was a toss up between spinning it white or dyeing prior to…
