More water than tonic

Stuff it! I’m moping around because I’ve lost some quilt tops. Imprint and another half finished quilt top.

I can’t bloody well find them anywhere.

And I’m going through a crisis regarding the direction of my quilting… probably something to do with the colours I’ve chosen for the Big Ice Tray quilt:

It is hard to tell from the photo- but the colour value of the green and the purple is pretty close even though the purple is seemingly bright. I have found when using direct complementaries there needs to be a good juxtaposition of value or brightness. And also hard to tell on the computer- but perhaps this green has too much blue in it- which blue did you use in the dyeing?

Hi Dijanne :-) I used Procion Blue MXG. I quite like the green I achieved but I've decided to ditch the purple and go with more value contrast.... your observation was quite right, the values are too close together. Cheers Claire
